Royal Caribbean offers fam cruise to TW show attendees

January 27, 2010

Travel Weekly has added a post-conference cruise option following the Cruise World 2010 and Home Based Travel Agent Show and Conference in Fort Lauderdale, April 14 to 16.

Royal Caribbean International is offering limited availability at $280 per person, including gratuities, for conference attendees interested in sailing on the Liberty of the Seas on a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage. The ship departs Miami on Sunday, April 18.

Ports of call are Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; Cozumel, Mexico; and George Town, Grand Cayman.

Space is limited. You must be registered for one of the two Travel Weekly events to claim a spot on the Liberty sailing.

Also, ship inspections will be part of the conference from April 14 to 16, with additional ship inspections on April 17 and 18.

Six ships will be available for inspection, including Holland America Line's Noordam and Westerdam (April 14), Royal Caribbean International's Oasis of the Seas (April 17), Princess Cruises' Star Princess (April 17) Celebrity Cruises' Century (April 17) and Celebrity's Solstice (April 18).

The inspections and post-conference sailing are in addition to a program jam-packed with must-see workshops, keynotes, panels, breakout sessions and presentations.

In addition, there will be supplier training and CLIA certification training sessions, as well as opportunities to interact with cruise line and tour operator executives and hundreds of peers.

We've just been alerted that the fam sailings are now available via CruisingPower.com. As this is a Royal Caribbean fam, Travel Weekly cannot confirm any space as it is all handled via Cruising Power and is offered on a space-available basis. The rate listed is for an interior cabin; other options will be available at higher rates. All cabins must be booked by an agent and one adult companion is eligible to attend as well; no triples or quads will be available. Hope this helps. -- Travel Weekly

Many questions begging answers. To find the answers re-read the article and explore both links on the last line in the article. Use the drop down menus on both websites. Some of the icons are hot links. Click or double click on them. #3 Your cruises are there. You must register for the full conference. #4 Apply for your CLIA Card at http://www.cruising.org/ #5 It is a RCCL FAM (Familiarization) Cruise, not a CLIA Seminar a Sea. There is a difference. First you must register for the conference. See # 8 below. #6 This article is about RCCL. They know about it. For the Show Contacts, See "Contact Us" on the Cruise World site. #7 For your answer, Click on "Register". As always cruise rates are per person. #8 See the Cruise World website > Top Menu: For Attendees > Post Conference Cruise: Rates start at $280 INCL Grat; EXCL Taxes/Fees. I hope this helped. I am a home-based agent in Canada. I am registered with CLIA for certification. Can I bring my spouse to share this opportunity? And for the FAM on RCI's Liberty of the Sea?
