American Express has signed a hotel folio agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), enabling American Express to provide its corporate card customers with reports that break down their lodging expenditures at nearly 2,800 IHG hotels in the U.S.

American Express corporate card customers can get detailed expenditure reports when staying at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Indigo hotels.

Breakdowns of lodging expenditures can help companies evaluate ancillary spending and investigate opportunities to further manage their travel and entertainment costs. Folio data includes room charges and applicable taxes; multiple food and beverage categories, including hotel restaurant and room service charges; business services such as faxing, computer services and photocopying; and parking.

The arrangement with IHG adds to the folio deals that American Express has in place with other hotel chains. American Express said its folio agreements now cover about 71% of its clients’ global commercial card spending in the U.S.
