Travel agent Margaret King has expanded her commissionable BarbadosDayPass.com program launched last year to include several other islands, in her new CaribbeanDayPass.com program.
Both programs target travelers who have a limited amount of time on a Caribbean island, such as cruise passengers in port for the day, airline passengers with a layover between flights and corporate travelers before or after meetings.
Visitors purchase a pass online at least three days prior to arrival. They receive a voucher, which they present to the resort upon arrival.
The programs currently cover participating resorts in Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Curacao, Grenada and Jamaica.
Sightseeing tours and excursions also are offered for cruise passengers arriving in the Jamaican ports of Montego Bay and Falmouth.
“Many of our day pass guests prefer a cruise over a land-based vacation,” said King. “Our hope has always been that our day pass guests will fall in love with the properties and return for a longer stay.”
A visitor who purchases a pass through BarbadosDayPass.com or CaribbeanDayPass.com also receives a “Pass-port” to a webpage for King’s Pass-port Incentive Program.
Listed on the “Pass-port” page are discounts and special offers from participating hotels, which can be used by day pass clients who return to the island for a longer, land-based stay.
“This is a great way for our day pass guests to later extend their one-day experience into a multiday experience at the resort,” King said.
Sample packages include a day pass at the St. Kitts Marriott, priced at $65 per person, which includes roundtrip transfers from Port Zante; a beach towel; a coupon for a beer; and discounts at the restaurant, spa and boutique.
An all-inclusive day pass at Almond Morgan Bay in St. Lucia is priced at $80 per adult, $50 for kids 5 to 12, and covers meals, drinks and use of all facilities, including the kids’ club. Transfers are not included in the price.
