Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa at the Islands of Loreto in Baja, Mexico, has partnered with Cal Jet Air to offer roundtrip service on Saturdays from Los Angeles to Loreto from April 21 through Dec. 31.
The resort, a member of the Villa Group in Mexico, is subsidizing half of the 170 seats on each flight, according to Sandra Ortega, social media manager at Villa del Palmar.
Meals will be offered in first class and economy aboard the 737-400 aircraft.
“The flight will give our guests an extra air service option in a larger plane that offers meal service,” said Owen Perry, a Villa Group partner.
“Adding the Saturday flight helps meet the increasing travel demand to the Islands of Loreto,” he said.
Alaska Airlines also serves the route.
The 2 p.m. departure time from LAX gives travelers connecting in Los Angeles enough time to transfer to the Cal Jet flight.
Introductory fares for the first three Saturday departures (April 21 and 28 and May 5) are $399 in economy and $599 in first class (plus fees and taxes). A flying companion gets a $100 discount.
Rates increase $100 in each class from May 12 onward.
