Guest robbed in room at Ritz-Carlton San Juan

November 10, 2009

Police in San Juan have arrested six people in connection with the robbery of a New York lawyer inside his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton.

The incident took place before dawn Monday, according to Sgt. Ricardo Haddock.

The robbers allegedly bound Robert Anello with lamp cords, stole $800 in cash from the room safe and threatened Anello until he gave up the password for a debit card that was stolen along with a credit card and cell phone, police said.

The 416-room beachfront hotel is in the Isla Verde section of San Juan, home to a number of high-end properties.

Ritz-Carlton said the hotel was fully cooperating with the police.

It's the motel six of the Ritz-Carlton collection. I was not impressed as a guest over Labor Day week-end. Pull their flag.

Sounds very fishy and if he did not let him in I would be looking at that hotel staff. Not good as I will be down there for a few days in February.
