Allure of the Seas to have a Starbucks

By Johanna Jainchill

Starbucks will make its first appearance at sea, on the 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas' Royal Promenade.

"We are always looking for unique ways and places to connect with our customers and deliver the Starbucks experience," said Chris Carr, senior vice president and general manager of Starbucks licensed stores. "Starbucks' presence aboard Allure of the Seas is another place where our customers want and expect us to be."

Allure passengers will be able to purchase signature and seasonal beverages and food, as well as Starbucks VIA Ready Brew products, between 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Seattle’s Best Coffee, part of the Starbucks portfolio and provider to Royal Caribbean for the past 10 years, will still be served throughout the rest of the cruise ship, Royal Caribbean said.

"Opening the first ever Starbucks at sea is another example of how Royal Caribbean is delivering distinctive beverage and dining options to our guests and exceeding their expectations," stated Lisa Bauer, senior vice president of hotel operations for Royal Caribbean.

The ubiquitous chain became the latest brand-name outlet to appear on Oasis-class ships. Both ships have Johnny Rockets restaurants, and the Allure has a Guess outlet and a Coach store. Both ships also will feature DreamWorks movies and characters like Shrek.
