Carnival Breeze specialty restaurant to serve sushi

By Donna Tunney
The Carnival Breeze, entering service in June, will offer two new dining venues: a full-service sushi restaurant and an open-air barbecue.

Bonsai Sushi is Carnival’s first full-service sushi restaurant, serving a variety of Asian-inspired cuisine with a contemporary decor featuring artwork by graffiti artist Erni Vales.

Fat Jimmy’s C-Side BBQ will offer grilled foods such as barbecued chicken breast, kielbasa, Italian sausage and pulled pork sandwiches.

Fat Jimmy’s will not charge extra but the sushi restaurant will, with prices ranging from $1 for appetizers to $15 for sushi for two.

Under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the 3,600-passenger Carnival Breeze in mid-June will sail an inaugural 12-day cruise from Venice to Barcelona, positioning the vessel for a summer schedule of 12-day Mediterranean cruises.

Following its transatlantic crossing, the ship will launch year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises from Miami on Nov. 24.
