Carnival Corp. appoints communications executive

By Tom Stieghorst
Carnival Corp. has created a new position, senior vice president of corporate communications, and named Roger Frizzell to fill the job.

Frizzell will handle all corporate-level communications and public relations activities for Carnival Corp., the parent company of 10 cruise lines.

He will report to Chairman Micky Arison and Vice Chairman Howard Frank.

Previously, corporate communications for Carnival Corp. were handled by the Miami-based public relations staff of its largest brand, Carnival Cruise Lines.

Frizzell is a former vice president and chief communications officer at Pacific Gas & Electric.

In addition to PG&E, Frizzell has handled public affairs duties at American Airlines, Hewlett-Packard, Lucent Technologies and AT&T.

Frizzell was inducted into the PR News Hall of Fame in 2011 and named by the Holmes Report as one of the top chief communications officers in the industry.
