Carnival Corp. said Bob Dickinson, former president of its flagship Carnival Cruise Lines brand, has been hired to provide advice on marketing and travel agent relations.
The news was delivered in a memo June 7 to the heads of the various Carnival brands.
In a statement, Carnival said Dickinson will report to Howard Frank, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Carnival Corp.
Dickinson stepped down from Carnival Corp.'s board in April. He had retired in 2007 as president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines, where his career was built on innovated marketing and distribution strategies.
Often outspoken, he was an advocate for bringing more first-time cruisers to the industry and served as the public face for Carnival at many industry events and in crisis situations.
