Carnival ad campaign to launch next week

By Tom Stieghorst
Carnival Cruise Lines' new advertising campaign will launch on national television starting Monday, Sept. 23.

The ads will feature voices, photos and videos of Carnival customers, using their testimonials to persuade potential customers to sail with Carnival.

Carnival's ad campaign is part of a multipronged effort to recover from a business slump that followed the Carnival Triumph engine-room fire earlier this year.

As reported, the campaign will be the first in several years to include a reference to travel agents.

Viewers will get a message at the end of 30-second spots asking them to take action, and one option is to call a travel provider.

Carnival said the ads will be seen on a variety of network primetime programs.

  • Consumer media discover that travel agents do exist

"Contrary to some thoughts, travel agents do exist ... We are usually able to get clients better prices, and we know we can see that clients have better experiences. And as our personal motto is: Our Service Travels With You."
