Carnival eliminates Funship Dollar certificates

By Tom Stieghorst
With the introduction of a gift card program this month, Carnival Cruise Lines will stop issuing Funship Dollar gift certificates.

The Funship Dollar program ended Dec. 5, but outstanding certificates can still be redeemed by filling out a redemption form at carnival.com/funshiprequest.

Funship Dollars can be applied to the cruise fare or be used as onboard credits.

A similar program called Cruise Dollars that can only be used to reduce fares will continue to be "live" for a short term in 2013, Carnival said.
