Carnival Cruise Lines said it will hold 2014 training/feedback sessions in eight U.S. cities, beginning with Jacksonville, Fla., on Feb. 21.
Each session would accommodate up to 150 travel agents.
The meetings are an extension of the Carnival Conversations program begun last year to open lines of communication with agents.
This year’s sessions will feature a product-training component, material on sales and marketing, and a chance for agents to sound off.
The events typically span three hours including an hour-long panel, a Q&A with Carnival executives, and breakfast or lunch.
A complimentary cruise and other prizes will be awarded to agents at each event.
In addition, Carnival said it will host 50 ship tours for agents in 2014 at ports around the country, hosted by local business development managers.
After Jacksonville, there will be sessions in Miami (April 14), San Antonio (May 13), Austin (May 14), Toronto (June 12), Atlanta (July 15), Los Angeles (August 28) and Fort Lauderdale (Nov. 20).
With the exception of Miami, all of the cities on this year’s tour schedule are different than last year's, Carnival said.Follow Tom Stieghorst on Twitter @tstravelweekly.
