Carnival to award agents cruises in year-end promotion

By Tom Stieghorst
Carnival Cruises Lines said agents can enter each booking made between Dec. 16 and Jan. 31, 2014, into a drawing it is calling the “50 Cruises A Day Giveaway.”

Agents will be eligible to win cruises on a variety of itineraries on cruises departing January through May by selling Carnival. The cruise line will give away 50 cruises a day through the entire contest period. Winners in the drawing can take up to three other people with them, subject to space being available.

“We wanted to round out 2013 and kick off 2014 with a program to show travel professionals that the initiatives we launched earlier this year are here to stay and are going to continue in a big way,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales.

Carnival said winners will be chosen at random and announced daily, beginning on Dec. 23, and may book their award cruise directly through a dedicated toll-free reservation line.

Agents will be responsible for government taxes and fees, gratuities and onboard expenses on the cruises.
