Celebrity Cruises said it will open a pop-up restaurant in San Francisco for two days in November to showcase cuisine on its ships.

The restaurant will use the kitchens of Stable Café, 2128 Folsom St., and will serve lunch and dinner Nov. 14 and 15.

Lunch will cost $40 and dinner $50, with proceeds going to a Celebrity scholarship fund at the Culinary Institute of America.

The menu will feature foods and preparations that Celebrity hopes will be eye-opening for diners, said John Suley, the line's director of culinary operations.

"Most people would not expect a cruise line to create a pop-up style restaurant experience on land, or for that experience to offer such an avant-guard menu," he said.

Earlier this year Celebrity had a similar culinary event in New York.
