Cunard unveils world cruises for 2014

By Tom Stieghorst
Cunard Line has set 2014 world cruise itineraries for its three Queen vessels that will allow passengers to buy segments for as short as 18 days on Queen Mary 2 or eight days on Queen Elizabeth.

Queen Victoria will make 10 maiden port calls, including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Moorea in French Polynesia in the course of a 116-day voyage that visits 40 ports in 19 countries.

Queen Elizabeth has scheduled a first-ever visit to Japan, where it will make four maiden calls: Kochi, Yokohama, Kobe and Nagasaki. Overnight calls include San Francisco, Sidney and Singapore.

The Cunard flagship, Queen Mary 2, will celebrate its 10th season with overnight calls in Cape Town, South Africa; Hong Kong; and Dubai. It will visit 30 ports in 19 countries.

Cunard said guests who book full voyages before Feb. 28, 2013, will get a $3,000 onboard credit. A new feature this year will allow passengers to extend land stays by three or four days at Santiago, Chile; Cape Town; and Sydney on select voyages.
