Dwain Wall to join CLIA

By Tom Stieghorst
Dwain Wall CLIACLIA said that Dwain Wall will become senior vice president in charge of agency and trade relations, bringing in a highly respected figure to head CLIA’s interaction with tens of thousands of travel agency members.

Until last fall, Wall had been senior vice president and general manager of World Travel Holdings’ home-based division, which includes travel agency franchise CruiseOne and host agency Cruises Inc.

Wall's 30-year career in travel also includes work for Expedia, Hotels.com and the luxury and adventure travel firm Grand Expeditions.

“By creating a dedicated trade relations position, CLIA is once again reinforcing its total commitment to our travel agency members — a sustained partnership of almost 40 years,” CLIA President Christine Duffy said.

In a statement released by CLIA, Wall said the trade group plays an especially important role in training agents that operate independent of the major host or franchise companies.

"Ultimately, my goal is to help member agencies be more successful, profitable and dynamic while staying ahead of the game as the industry continues to evolve,” Wall said.
