Grandeur of the Seas won't be back until July

By Tom Stieghorst
Royal Caribbean International said it will take about six weeks to repair fire damage to the Grandeur of the Seas.

Royal characterized the area where the fire occurred as an "industrial" part of the ship. It said the financial impact, net of insurance, will be about $22 million.

"The extent of the financial impact was relatively high because the affected sailings were during the premium summer season," said Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean's chief financial officer.

The ship is expected to return to service for its July 12 sailing date.
