HAL assists stranded sightseers on disabled tour boat

Holland America Line said it assisted tourists on a stranded tour boat in Alaska last Friday.

While leaving from Margerie Glacier to depart Glacier Bay, Holland America Line's Statendam responded to a call to assist the Baranof Wind, a sightseeing vessel that had lost power.

The Statendam lowered two tenders, and 102 tourists boarded, Holland America said. The sightseers then boarded the Statendam and were brought to Bartlett Cove, where the Baranof Wind excursion originated.

The Statendam then sailed for Seward, Alaska.
