Hapag-Lloyd ship to call in New York and Miami

By Tom Stieghorst
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises announced itineraries for the second season of the Europa 2, which will include maiden calls in New York and Miami in 2014.

The luxury ship will be docked in New York from Dec. 2 to 4, 2014, before leaving on a Caribbean cruise. After a visit to the Bahamas, it will arrive in Miami on Dec. 20 to begin another Caribbean route.

Also new for the season from April 2014 to April 2015 are several four-day cruises in the Baltic and North seas.

Hapag-Lloyd has created 12 family cruises around the holiday and summer breaks from school, and a series of golf-themed cruises.

It will offer five cruises in South America that can be combined into a 76-day circumnavigation. Cruisers booking all five segments will get a $6,000 cash bonus, a shore excursion credit worth almost $2,400 and laundry service during the entire cruise.

Hapag-Lloyd said brochures for the ship's second season will be available in September.

  • Consumer media discover that travel agents do exist

"Contrary to some thoughts, travel agents do exist ... We are usually able to get clients better prices, and we know we can see that clients have better experiences. And as our personal motto is: Our Service Travels With You."
