More propulsion problems for Celebrity Millennium

By Tom Stieghorst
Celebrity Cruises said it canceled a scheduled visit on Monday at Icy Strait Point in Alaska by the Celebrity Millennium, as one of the ship's two propulsion systems has malfunctioned.

Millennium had been stuck for nearly four days in Seward earlier this month for repairs to its propulsion units. After repairs, it spent three days at sea sailing directly to Vancouver.

The current cruise departed Vancouver on Friday for a seven-day return trip to Seward, but developed a mechanical problem and returned to Ketchikan last night.

Celebrity said its technical team would make a full inspection and assess the need for additional repairs.
