Oceania cruise to premiere PBS documentary on Italian Americans

By Tom Stieghorst

A 10-day Mediterranean cruise on the Oceania Riviera will be the venue for the debut of "The Italian Americans," a new documentary series produced for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).

Guests on the ship will see screenings of the four-part series, narrated by actor Stanley Tucci, and talk to its producers, writers and directors. The package is free, but limited to the first 300 people to sign up

In addition, there will be a program of wine tastings, cooking classes and shore excursions that tie into the Italian American theme that will be available for a nominal fee.

The Enchanting Riviera cruise from Athens to Monte Carlo is scheduled to depart Oct. 29. The series is expected to appear on PBS in 2015.
