A possible strike of dock workers at East and Gulf coast ports this week is not targeting cruise ships, according to a union memo.

The International Longshoremen's Association is set to strike Saturday at midnight unless it reaches a new contract with shippers regarding payments for container cargo.

In a Dec. 19 strike-preparations memo, union president Harold Daggett said "orders to handle passenger ships shall be honored" in the event of a strike.
