Ponant waives single supplement on 30 cruises

By Tom Stieghorst
French luxury expedition line Compagnie du Ponant said it will not charge solo travelers extra for sailing in a double-occupancy cabin on 30 sailings in the 2014-15 season.

The single supplement is charged by many cruise lines to cover part or all of the cost of an absent second guest.

Itineraries on three of Ponant’s 264-passengeer ships range from a seven-day Pearls of the Adriatic cruise departing June 12 to a 16-day voyage in the Indonesian archipelago departing March 4.

Ponant said there are no early booking requirements to qualify for the solo fares.
