Pullmantur to upgrade Internet on ships

By Tom Stieghorst
Pullmantur has extended its contract with MTN Communications for telecom services on its cruise ships.

The Spanish cruise company has been an MTN customer since its founding 11 years ago. A statement announcing the extension did not give its duration. A spokeswoman for MTN said it is a "long-term contract."

MTN will update the WiFi infrastructure for Pullmantur, which will enable enhanced Internet performance and social media access, among other benefits.

Throughout the term of the agreement, MTN will roll out new product offerings related to its next-generation network, MTN Nexus.

Pullmantur is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
