Ryndam renovation completed

By Johanna Jainchill

Holland America Line's Ryndam completed a 17-day renovation as part of the line's $525 million Signature of Excellence fleet-enhancement program.

During a drydock in Freeport, Bahamas, the ship was given the Mix lounge, complimentary Italian restaurant Canaletto and new cabin and bathroom designs.

In addition, 16 cabins near the ship's spa were turned into spa staterooms.

Richard Meadows, HAL's executive vice president of marketing, sales and guest programs, said the investment "reaffirms our ongoing leadership by continually raising the expectations of our premium category."

The Ryndam is currently sailing seven-day western Caribbean cruises from Tampa.
