Ryndam to be first ship to call at new port in Honduras

By Tom Stieghorst
The newly developed Banana Coast port of call in Honduras said Holland America Line will be the first to make a regular series of stops there in 2014-15.

The 1,260-passenger Ryndam will open the port on Nov. 19, 2014, and make 10 more calls during the winter season.

Silversea Cruises is scheduled to visit the port the following month.

The $30 million Banana Coast port in Trujillo recently finished construction on its passenger-reception area and shopping center. A two-ship post-Panamax pier is in the works.
