Sandy causes minor damage to Norwegian Cruise Line's private island

|

Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled three calls to Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas, because it has sustained minor damage from Hurricane Sandy.

According to a cruise line spokeswoman, Sandy inflicted minor damage to structures and landscaping. The storm also caused beach erosion.

The Norwegian Jewel’s call was canceled on Oct. 31, and the Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Pearl will forego visits on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively.

The island is scheduled to reopen on Nov. 3, when Norwegian Sky is scheduled to call there.
