Star Clippers to begin Baltic sailings in summer 2012

Star Clippers said it will enter the Baltic cruise market in summer 2012 by positioning its Star Flyer in the Northern Europe region from May through August.

Three- to 11-night cruises will be offered aboard the 170-passenger tall ship.

Departures will be out of England, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. Port calls will include St. Petersburg, Russia; Antwerp, Belgium; Oslo, Norway; Stockholm, Sweden; Gdansk, Poland; Ventspils, Latvia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Klaipeda, Lithuania.

In May, a series of short cruises will operate from Hamburg and Rostock-Warnemunde, Germany, coinciding with the annual tall ships Sailing Parade.
