Voyages of Discovery cruise canceled due to generator problem

By Tom Stieghorst
Voyages of Discovery has canceled a British Isles cruise scheduled to depart June 2 because of a continuing generator problem on the Voyager.

Two of the four generators developed problems during a May 25 cruise, which had to be ended early.

Steve Tucker, president of All Leisure Holidays (the North American sales and marketing office for Voyages of Discovery), said he's confident the ship will be back in service for its next scheduled cruise, a 15-day cruise to northern Norway.

"We don't anticipate issues with any more cruises," Tucker seaid.

Guests scheduled to be on the canceled cruise could receive a full refund or a credit for 140% of the value of their original fare on a rebooked Voyages of Discovery cruise.
