Windstar revamps loyalty program

By Tom Stieghorst
Windstar Cruises has renamed its passenger loyalty program and will enhance benefits, beginning Nov. 1.

Formerly the Foremast Club, the program is now known as Windstar Yacht Club. Foremast Club members will be automatically enrolled in the new service.

Benefits include a 5% discount on standard cruise fares, which can be combined with other offers, except FLASH fares. They also include a free next-category upgrade, or an upgrade to a premium suite for $500 per person.

Members will get a private cocktail party; dining with the captain or ship's officers, a 10% gift shop discount and a commemorative welcome-aboard gift.

The program also features a referral bonus system. Passengers get a $100 onboard spending credit for referring new passengers, which is recorded when the final payment from the referred guest is received.

New passengers who are referred by current ones also get a $100 credit on their first cruise.

  • Consumer media discover that travel agents do exist

"Contrary to some thoughts, travel agents do exist ... We are usually able to get clients better prices, and we know we can see that clients have better experiences. And as our personal motto is: Our Service Travels With You."
