At 101,353 tons and 893 ft, the Sunshine is one bulbous babe, with a beam of 116 ft, a draft of 27 ft, and a cruising speed of 22.5 knots. She debuted in 1996 as the world's largest cruise ship, since surpassed many times.
Originally named Carnival Destiny, the ship underwent a $155 million refit in 2013, which was the biggest renovation Carnival had ever attempted. She was rechristened Carnival Sunshine after she emerged from the refurbishment in May 2013.
