One of the more significant routes in modern history, Atlantic crossings founded the New World and served as a measuring stick for ships in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today few cruise lines offer transatlantic voyages as a matter of course (the Queen Mary is the main exception), but if the itinerary interests you, tag along on a repositioning cruise in the spring or fall when many ships change local between the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
