Built in Germany in 1989 and renovated in 2003 and again in 2008-2009, the Viking Truvor is a 3,200-ton, 423-ft ship with a Russian and Filipino crew of 105. It was originally named Sergei Kirov (remains on the bow) until taken over by Viking River Cruises. Established in 1997, Viking River Cruises is now the largest operator of European riverboats.
