The Aegean Odyssey made its debut in May 2010 after industry veteran Gerry Herrod purchased the former Aegean I cruise ship from Greek shipping interests.
The 11,563-ton Aegean Odyssey was built in 1973 and had been sailing for Golden Sun Cruises. It previously was operated by Renaissance Cruises. It has had many different owners over the years, and in its previous incarnation it carried 570 passengers on budget cruises.
