'First Dates' spurs Hilton packages
HONOLULU -- The Feb. 13 release of the romantic comedy "50 First
Dates," starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore and filmed mostly
on Oahu, has created a partnership of sorts between Hilton Hawaii
and filmmakers Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures.
Hilton is advertising its Hawaiian properties on the film's Web
site at www.50firstdates.com and on the Oahu Visitors Bureau
site at www.visit-oahu.com and offering packages tied to the
film.
Hilton's 50 First Dates packages can be booked online at www.hiltonhawaii.com/50firstdates through March 31 for
travel completed by Dec. 19.
Agents who book five-night-minimum-stay packages at Waikiki's
Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the
Kohala coastline will receive a $50 credit per room toward dining
and spa treatments for their clients.
The Hilton Hawaiian Village is offering gardenview rooms for
$355 per night. The package includes admission for two to the
Bishop Museum, dinner at Bali by the Sea and a spa treatment for
two at the hotel's new Mandara Spa.
The 50 First Dates Romance Package at the Hilton Waikoloa
Village starts at $359 and includes daily breakfast; dinner for two
at Donatoni's Italian restaurant or the Kamuela Provision Co.; a
cabana massage for two; and a sunset sail.
The 50 First Dates packages are also available at the Doubletree
Alana Hotel Waikiki. The 50 First Dates Perfect Romance plan at the
Doubletree Alana, $175 a night, includes a $40 dining credit at
Padovani's restaurant.
