Disney packages may go on CRSs--eventually December 10, 2001 Share 1 -- LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Walt Disney Travel Co. may offer their package line through the major CRS systems "within a year or two," according to Walt Disney Travel Co. officials. Walt Disney Travel Co. president Randy Garfield pointed out that Disney packages already are available to agents on line at www.disneytravelagents.com. And Walt Disney World hotel rooms and park tickets are available on CRS systems, as well as Disney packages offered by wholesalers. But making Disney packages available directly on the CRSs poses a problem because of the breadth of Disney product out there, he said."We have a complicated product," Garfield said. But, he added, "travel agents are in a unique position as consumers look over the product. A consumer may need [agent] advice."Two important markets that Garfield said need greater agent focus are the "rubber tire" -- the drive market -- and clients who are looking to travel internationally but now want to stay closer to home."[They've] been overlooked for all the years I've been [at Disney]," he said.
