Family planning: Resorts' offerings cater to kids
PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico -- Several properties here are trying to
lure families by offering services and packages that cater to
children.
The following is a sampling of what's available:
The Holiday Inn Puerto Vallarta offers baby-sitting services
and allows a maximum of two children up to age 12 to stay free in a
room with two adults.Rates at the property start at $87 per night, valid through
June.

Marriott's CasaMagna Resort is offering an All-inclusive Value
Vacation plan through Jan. 31.
The package starts at $270 per room, per night, double, and
children under 12 stay and eat free.
The plan features deluxe accommodations, meals and drinks at
select restaurants and via room service and use of the tennis
courts and health club facilities.
The CasaMagna features Club Amigos, a children's club that
offers supervised activities, such as games, contests, handcrafts
and painting, for kids ages 5 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
daily.

The Velas Vallarta offers baby-sitting services, a game
room/arcade for kids, a children's pool and free meals for children
ages 4 to 12 when accompanied by two adults.Rates, valid through Jan. 31, start at $85 per night, double,
and two children up to age 12 stay for free.

The Westin Regina Resort features the Westin Kids Club, a
program for infants to children up to age 12 offered from 6:30 a.m.
to 9 p.m. daily.The program extends beyond baby-sitting services with a kid's
menu at the resort's El Palmar restaurant and welcome gifts for
each child, including coloring books, bath toys and a sports bottle
or drink cup filled with free beverages at mealtimes. Supervised
activities also are offered.
The Westin Regina Resort also created a Get the Most of Mexico
package for $120 per person, per night, double, through April
14.
The plan allows two kids under age 18 to stay for free when
sharing a room with adults.
The package includes deluxe oceanview accommodations, a 20%
discount on a car rental, use of the tennis courts and admission to
the Marina Vallarta Golf Club.
In addition, guests who purchase a package from Jan. 2 through
31 will receive a fourth night free (no meals included).

Club Viva Vallarta offers baby-sitting services and the Viva
Kids Club for children ages 4 to 12.Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the club employs specialized
personnel who provide activities, educational games, sports and
entertainment.
Children ages 12 and under are invited to stay, play and eat for
free at Viva Resorts when sharing a room with two paying adults
(maximum of two children per room).
Rates for Club Viva Vallarta start at $130 per person, per
night, double, through Jan. 31.

La Jolla de Mismaloya operates the Club de Ninos Kid's Club
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for children ages 5 to 10.The club offers activities including exercises, painting,
crafts, beach activities, bingo, a treasure hunt and beach
soccer.
Rates are $210 per room, per night, double, for a one-bedroom
suite, and $235 for a two-bedroom suite through Jan. 30.
Children under 12 can stay with their parents for free.
