Gold Card good for discounts from Anchorage businesses By Jorge Sidron / May 27, 2009 Share 1 -- The Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau launched a Gold Card program for guests who stay at least two nights in one of the city's hotels or inns. Visitors who present the card at participating restaurants, shops, cultural attractions and tour businesses will be eligible for discounts. Among the discounts: a second day free on a car rental from Avis, a free gift in the Anchorage Museum's gift shop in commemoration of the museum's "Gold" exhibition and a free aviation heritage poster at the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum will receive a free aviation heritage poster. Visitors not staying in a hotel or inn can request a Gold Card at the Log Cabin Visitor Information Center at the corner of Fourth Avenue and F Street. The wallet-size card is complimentary and features Alaska's 50th Anniversary of Statehood logo on one side and the Anchorage CVB logo on the other.
