Hawaii operators roll out agent incentives, packages March 03, 1999 Share 1 -- HONOLULU -- Hawaii wholesalers introduced incentives and special promotions and packages. Travel Impressions came out with the Mahalo spring bonus -- 15% commission on all Hawaii air/land and land-only bookings. The offer is valid for bookings March 1 to April 30 for travel anytime. Prices start at $165 per person, double, for a land package featuring five nights at Outrigger Hobron in Waikiki. The company offers more than 120 properties on six islands; airline partners are American, Continental, Delta, Hawaiian and Aloha. Agents gain points that earn free tickets on Delta. Double Bonus applies to bookings at 28 properties on Oahu and Maui, for travel through Dec. 31 with deposits made by May 31. Launched in January, the loyalty program provides 1,500 points per traveler for each Hawaii booking made that includes purchase of the company's protection plan, and 750 points without the protection plan. Under double bonus, 3,000 and 1,500 points are awarded, respectively, and agents can earn a free Delta domestic ticket for booking nine travelers with the protection plan, and a free international ticket with 17 travelers. Prices, from New York (Newark), for example, range from $699 per person, double, (at Outrigger Maile Sky in Waikiki) to $1,389 (Ihilani Resort & Spa in West Oahu).
