Inn for Lakeland July 22, 1999 Share 1 -- ATLANTA -- Jameson Inns here, owner of Jameson Inn and Signature Inn hotels, will break ground on a 68-room Jameson Inn in Lakeland, Fla., later this summer. When it opens during 2000, the property will have a pool and fitness center; two- and three-room suites; premium rooms with microwave, refrigerator and recliner; computer-compatible phone jacks; free local calls; free USA Today newspapers, and corporate and senior citizen rates.A continental breakfast will be included in the rates. Bookings for Lakeland are not yet being accepted. The Lakeland land development will be one of five properties the company has under construction in Florida.It will be on Lakeland Park Drive off I-4 at exit 19, about 50 miles southwest of Walt Disney World in Orlando. The new three-story colonial-style inns with interior corridors are designed to appeal to the price- and quality-conscious business traveler during the week and family travelers on weekends.
