Israel fills tourism position in the Americas

Haim Gutin, Israel tourismOn Sept. 1, Haim Gutin replaced Arie Sommer as Israel’s tourism commissioner for North and South America. Gutin will be based in New York. 

Sommer returned to Israel following the completion of his second term in the job.

Gutin was previously the Israel Ministry of Tourism’s senior deputy director-general for human resources and logistics, based in Jerusalem.

He joined the Israel Ministry of Tourism in 1982, and since then has served in a variety of roles.

Gutin was a combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces from 1975 to 1978.
