JW Marriott Cancun debuts boutique style with Club 91 By Jorge Sidron / July 26, 2004 Share 1 -- CANCUN, Mexico -- Starting in July, guests of the JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa will have the option of staying at Club 91, a new section within the resort offering upgraded services and amenities. Hotel officials said Club 91 was designed to re-create the level of service and accommodation typically offered at a boutique hotel.The name Club 91 comes from the 91 steps leading up the Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza. Each of the four sides of the pyramid has 91 steps, which added together account for the 364 days in the Mayan calendar year.Guests of Club 91 will have access to a private lounge offering five daily food and beverage buffets. Club 91 rooms will also feature high-speed Internet access.Other services and amenities will include check-in inside the private lounge, butler service, preferred spa reservations, complimentary airport transportation, oceanview rooms and a departure gift.Club 91 consists of 33 rooms, including one Presidential Suite, on the resort's 14th floor.
