ABSECON, N.J. -- The Seaview Marriott Resort and Fairway Villas
here became the first hotel to feature a Red Door Spa.
The signature spa opened on July 13 as the first in a line of
facilities planned by a new division of Elizabeth Arden Salon
Holdings based in Phoenix.
The new division, Elizabeth Arden Resort Spas, plans to open at
least 40 Red Door Spas in resorts throughout the U.S. and the
Caribbean during the next five years.
Elizabeth Arden Salon Holdings had been in conversation with
Marriott for several years, according to Kelly Weber, senior vice
president of marketing for Elizabeth Arden.
"Marriott was looking to expand the property in Absecon with a
spa and fitness facility as part of that expansion," she said.
Once Elizabeth Arden was "in the door with Marriott, it just
took off from there."
The 12,000-square-foot spa includes 17 facial and massage rooms;
three hydrotherapy rooms; men's and women's whirlpools and cold
plunge pools; indoor and outdoor pools; relaxation gardens, and a
juice bar.
The spa offers an array of signature treatments, from facials to
body wraps to massages.
Some of the signature treatments at the Seaview Marriott Red
Door Spa are the Red Door, an herbal mask facial, or the Citra-Spa
Glow, an exfoliating treatment using a blend of salts, lavender and
tangerine oils.
Another unique treatment is the Desert Stone Pedicure, a
eucalyptus foot soak, followed by a warm-stone pressure massage,
hot towel wrap and an exfoliating scrub.
The Red Door is priced at $75, while the other two treatments
are priced at $60.
Individual treatments are priced from $25 to $125 each, and
multitreatment packages also are available.
Also included in the facility is a beauty salon with four hair
stations and five nail and pedicure stations.
"Seaview has been received very well," said Weber.
Nightly rates through Dec. 19 start at $220 per room,
double.
