Ripley's opens Monroe exhibit January 26, 2002 Share 1 -- ORLANDO -- Ripley's Believe It or Not! here opened a temporary exhibit of the clothing, jewelry and personal effects of Marilyn Monroe. The traveling exhibit will be in Orlando through April. There is no extra cost to view it. The 40-piece collection was purchased in October 1999 at a Christie's auction in New York. It includes a Mexican sweater worn during the actress' final photo shoot, a pair of fur-trimmed glass slippers, her personal make-up case, sleepwear and a purse.The exhibit also features anecdotes and biographical information. Visitors also will be able to view Ripley's regular exhibitions devoted to some 200 of the world's oddities.Admission to Ripley's costs $14.95 for adults, who are defined as 13 years and older, and $9.95 for children ages 4 to 12.
