SunSpree Resort Paradise Island reopens after $9M renovation July 19, 2000 Share 1 -- PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas -- Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Paradise Island opened following a $9 million refurbishment project. The inclusive resort, formerly the Fun Club on Paradise Island, closed last September for the renovations.All rooms now feature tiled floors, a new phone system with data ports and new bathrooms. The soft goods also have been replaced.A free-form swimming pool with a waterfall and hot tub became part of the transformation. Wahoo's Pool Bar also opened.In addition, the lobby area was renovated and the tennis courts were resurfaced.The 246-room resort features a private beach, the Captain's Table and Harborview restaurants and a lobby bar.Each room is equipped with a refrigerator, safe, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and cable television.Through Aug. 31, rates range from $174 to $234 per person, double.
