The 43-story, all-suite tower is attached to the tropically themed Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, but is self-sufficient and will offer a different experience, according to Mandalay Resort Group officials. Every suite in the 1,122-room tower will offer one or two bedrooms as well as a separate sitting room with a plasma-screen TV and a desk with a high-speed Internet connection, fax and printer. The tower also will feature a 60,000-square-foot lobby that is connected to the Mandalay Bay's casino by a grand promenade. The lobby will have nine check-in desks, a separate VIP check-in, two restaurant and show reservation desks, a bell desk and a business center as well as a lobby bar with a billiards lounge, a sundries store, a 24-hour restaurant and a coffee bar. The tower's second floor will feature a 13,000-square-foot spa and gym, while the top floor will offer unobstructed views of the Strip and patio dining at a 220-seat restaurant and a 200-seat lounge. TIA RHODES was named vp-hotel operations for the Flamingo Las Vegas. She will be responsible for managing day-to-day hotel operations, overseeing property budgets, conducting property inspections and directing personnel involved in renovations and upgrades. She formerly was assistant vp-rooms at Caesars Palace, another Park Place Entertainment property.TRAVEL AGENTS CAN EARN up to $250 in cash through an incentive offered by MGM-Mirage Vacations and MasterCard.
