Travel Weekly's Mexico E-Letter June 25, 2003 June 25, 2003 Share 1 -- DELTA AIR LINES will expand its code-share relationship with AeroMexico beginning July 7 by offering code-share service from Ontario, Calif., to Los Cabos and from Las Vegas to Monterrey. "Mexico continues to be one of Delta's most important and successful markets in Latin America," said Arnaldo Ruiz, general manager of alliances for Delta. The new service between Ontario and Los Cabos will be offered Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights to Los Cabos will depart Ontario at 2:20 p.m. and arrive in Los Cabos at 5:40 p.m. On the return, flights will leave Los Cabos at 11:30 a.m. and arrive in Ontario at 12:50 p.m. The new flights between Las Vegas and Monterrey will operate on Thursdays and Sundays. On Thursdays, the flight from Las Vegas will depart at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in Monterrey at 9:25 p.m. On Sundays, the flight will depart Las Vegas at 6:45 p.m. and arrive in Monterrey at 11:40 p.m. Returning home, the flight will depart Monterrey at 2:45 p.m. and arrive in Las Vegas at 3:35 p.m. on Thursdays and depart Monterrey at 4:45 p.m. and arrive in Las Vegas at 5:35 p.m. on Sundays. With this new service, Delta will offer 220 flights to 35 cities in Mexico in conjunction with AeroMexico. WHAT ARE SOME OTHER BENEFITS of the Delta/AeroMexico alliance? As of last week, AeroMexico Vacations began marketing vacations to Cancun for travelers from Baltimore; Boston; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit; Greenville, S.C.; Nashville; New Orleans; Washington; and Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham, N.C. As a result of the code-share agreement, customers will be able to fly on Delta to its hub in Atlanta, where they will then connect to Cancun via AeroMexico (flights 610 and 611).
