World Golf Village features 'Gridiron and Golf' plan October 03, 2002 Share 1 -- ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- World Golf Village here introduced the two-night Gridiron and Golf package. Commissionable at 10%, the package features tickets to Jacksonville Jaguars football games played on various Sundays through Dec. 22. The package is priced at $457 per person, double.The remaining Jacksonville Jaguars home schedule is as follows: Houston Texans, Oct. 27; Washington Redskins, Nov. 10; Pittsburgh Steelers., Dec. 1; Cleveland Browns, Dec. 8; and Tennessee Titans, Dec. 22. The package price covers accommodations at the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort and one round of golf on either the King & Bear golf course, co-designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, or the Slammer & Squire golf course, designed by Bobby Weed with consultants Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen.Also provided is admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame and World Golf Village Imax Theater, as well as access to the Serenata Beach Club, which offers oceanfront dining, a beach, spa services, two pools and a fitness center. Play on the Island Challenge Hole and 18-hole putting course is provided, as well.The Island Challenge Hole is a replica of the famous 17th hole at the Tournament Players Club at nearby Sawgrass. The tee box is outside the front door of the World Golf Hall of Fame, and the hole itself is in the middle of Kelley Lake. The 18-hole putting course -- in the shadow of the Hall of Fame -- is situated along the Walk of Champions, which encircles Kelley Lake.In addition to the above, the Gridiron and Golf package also covers related taxes and service charges.
