May 1 reopening set for Capri property

By Felicity Long
Villa Le ScaleThe Villa Le Scale on Italy’s Isle of Capri is poised to reopen May 1 after a winter-long renovation.

The seven-room, 19th century property has added a collection of art and artifacts that include statuary, paintings and objets d’art in each guestroom. The Venetian Room, for example, features an 18th century bookcase, while the Louis XVI Room is decorated with boiserie panels and a terrace overlooking the property’s enormous garden.

All rooms are equipped with high-speed WiFi, air conditioning and plasma-screen TVs with surround sound, and most feature views of the Bay of Naples.

Other features include indoor and outdoor dining, concierge service, a fitness center and a heated swimming pool surrounded by fountains and stone grottoes. Rates are from about $460 per night, including breakfast and taxes; whole-property bookings also are available.
