Second Kempinski opens in Austria

Kempinski The Spa at Palais Hansen Kempinski ViennaThe Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna opened in March after a two-and-a-half-year restoration that involved reconstruction of its interior.

The 153-room Renaissance Revival-style property was designed as a hotel for the 1873 World Exhibition but never opened as one.

It now features Kempinski The Spa; two restaurants, Die Kuche and Edvard, and two bars; a delicatessen and a cigar lounge. The hotel also includes 17 private residential apartments.

Rates start at about $340, double, per night, including breakfast.

The property is the Kempinski's second hotel in Austria; it also operates the Kempinski Das Tirol in Jochberg.
